LOZART

Losartan Potassium Tablets USP

Losartan is a selective, competitive angiotensin-II receptor type 1 (AT-1 type) antagonist, which reduces the end organ responses to angiotensin-II, which binds to the AT-1 receptor found in many tissues (eg. vascular smooth muscle, adrenal gland, kidneys and the heart) and stimulates several biological actions, including vasoconstriction and the release of aldosterone that ultimately contributes to hypertension.
