Astrocort is a Topical Hydrocortisone
Topical hydrocortisone has anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic and vaso-constrictive actions in the treatment of a wide variety of dermatological conditions.
Astrocort being a steroid medication, reduces inflammation by reducing the chemical activity that causes the inflammation in localized areas.
Astrocort is presented as Astrocort 0.5% Cream 10g , Astrocort 1% Cream 15g

Furthermore, it can be used in the management of Insect bites
** Astrocort is contraindicated in the case where skin lesions are caused by infection with viruses (e.g. herpes simplex/chickenpox) fungi (e.g. candidiasis) or bacteria (e.g. impetigo) and Rosacea
Apply a thin layer on the affected area 1 – 2 times daily or as directed by a physician
